2006-2007 Budget
A link for the 2006-2007 Budget request for the Botelle School submitted to the Board of Finance is below. This budget request of $2,216,700 represents an increase of 5% over the current year budget. It also reflects a reduction of $26,234 from the Draft I Budget reviewed with the Board of Finance on February 14, 2006.
After meeting with the Board of Finance the Norfolk Board of Education considered some options placed before them by the administration. After much discussion, and public testimony the Norfolk Board of Education reduced the request for a a new teacher, and consolidated the current two grade threes making one Grade 4. By reassigning from within, a second, Grade 2, could be met without adding a new teacher to the budget. A comparative grade organization is below for your review.

The Board of Education recognizes that things could change with increases or decreases in enrollment. Or with the enrollment of a special needs student. However as it currently stands the Board of Education looks forward to a '07 Budget that will:
* Maintain reasonable class sizes.
* Honors the recently approved contracts for Norfolk teachers and staff.
* Upgrades the technology program at Botelle.
* Upgrades the accounting/business office at Botelle.
* Continues the work and study on the window replacement project for the school.
*(Town Budget)
* Honors the Board of Education commitment to the Town pension program.
The Norfolk Board of Education looks forward to discussing the '07 Budget with
the Board of Finance on March 21, 2006.
