Regular Meeting - September 14, 2005
MINUTES
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Kate Briggs Johnson, Mark Morgan,
Donna Rubin, Madeline Falk, S. Carr, Kim Thorne-Kaunelis (7:08 P.M.)
BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Jim Jackson
ADMINISTRATION PRESENT: George Counter, Superintendent,
Timothy Lee, Principal
ADMINISTRATION ABSENT:
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 P.M. by Chairman
Johnson.
Public Comments:
None
MOTION by S. Carr, seconded by M. Morgan to approve minutes
of the August 30, 2005 special meeting. APPROVING: K. Briggs Johnson,
M. Morgan, S. Carr, D. Rubin. ABSTAINING: M. Falk
Superintendent’s Report:
Superintendent Counter presented to the Board the 2006 Norfolk Teacher
of the Year: Theresa Wilkinson. Chairman Johnson presented Mrs. Wilkinson
with a certificate recognizing her accomplishment.
Superintendent Counter reviewed the request from the N. W. YMCA for
use of the building on Friday afternoons. Board agreed to allow the
Y the use with no charge.
Principal’s Report: Mr. Lee reviewed his report
sent to the Board.
Affiliations:
CABE - State Convention coming up.
Shared Services - Negotiations is ongoing. First meeting of the month
will be this coming Monday, Sept. 19.
Education Connection - No report
PTO - Fund raisers were discussed. Cultural programs for the year was
reviewed.
After School Program - Was discussed at the PTO meeting.
Colebrook Collaboration - No report.
Sub Committee:
Bus Routes: Mr. Lee will review the routes on the town map at the October
meeting.
Negotiations: Two meetings have been held and the negotiations are moving
along.
Building & Grounds: Board was updated on Gym heaters, sign for the
Adele Winn Gym, Gym Bleachers.
New Business:
Board Goals: Board Goals for 05/06 were discussed.
Students walking to school: Students walking or riding to school was
discussed.
MOTION by D. Rubin, seconded by S. Carr to adjourn meeting
at 8:51 P.M.. UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED.
