Botelle School students recently took a special field trip to explore two essential parts of our Norfolk community — the Norfolk Post Office and the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department.
The trip offered students an up-close look at how mail moves through town, from sorting letters to delivering packages, and gave them a newfound appreciation for the work of postal employees. Friendly staff members took time to explain their roles and answer questions, even showing students behind-the-scenes areas rarely seen by the public.
At the Norfolk Fire Department, students learned about fire safety and got to meet some of the dedicated volunteers who help keep our town safe.
These hands-on learning experiences help students understand how different parts of our town work together — and just how many people are involved in making a community function.
A big thank-you to the Norfolk Post Office and Norfolk Fire Department for welcoming our students so warmly and for the important work they do every day.
